My background

I have made the difficult calls. I know what it costs to get them wrong — and what it takes to get them right.

I started my career in business banking, working directly with SME owners and directors. That period gave me a close understanding of capital, cash flow and risk — and the decisions that determine whether a business grows or stalls. It also gave me a clear view of what separates businesses that scale from those that stay stuck.

I went on to build and scale several companies from nothing into multi-million-pound operations, with large teams and complex operations across multiple service lines. Every one of those experiences — including the hard lessons — informs how I work with clients today. I am currently an active shareholder and director across five businesses operating in different sectors, which means the advice I give is grounded in what is happening in the real world right now, not just what worked in the past.

Through Exec Consultancy, I work with a select number of UK businesses on strategy, governance, risk and financial leadership. I have sat where you are sitting. I know what good decisions look like under pressure — and I know what poor ones cost.
